The movie was no box office hit earning just 39 million on a 28 million budget and released in a poorly timed July 1993..but since then it became a massive cult classic as the only Halloween Family film and has received a huge following where fans have begged Disney for a sequel after strong DVD and streaming sales... It was first announced in 2017 that it would instead be a direct remake for Freeform but that never came to fruition and was going ot be scrapped until the news of a sequel came out.
