It's weird how when you look at videos of back then, it seems like a different time, but it really was basically the same as now. Only major difference is no smartphones back then.

People didn't know what was going to happen with Russia or China. You didn't have TSA fingering your butthole every time you went on a flight.

Relative to other nations, you're right on the economic part. But what do you mean by industrial? We produce thrice as many cars than in the 1950s, all of which are more efficient in production and mileage, and far safer.
