They currently have a 3 seat majority in the Senate(with one race still undecided) and 11 seat majority in the House(with 5 races outstanding). The Democrats now have full control of Virginia's state government for the first time since 1994.
I'm particularly happy to see Lee Carter won re-election(and comfortably), because he's unabashedly socialist and has made a point of calling for the repeal of Virginia's "Right to Work" laws.
Of other particular note, Del. Danica Roem also won re-election and Ghazala Hashmi has become the first Muslim woman elected to Virginia's Senate.

I'm against At Will employment, but not Right to Work. Unions should only exist if they are good for workers (and not just workers who have seniority)

This would be a great thing for them. I remember being on job sites where union electricians were traveling daily all the way to Pittsburgh to work because right to work laws gutted their wages so everybody that was worth a damn refused to continue working there for peanuts. Right to work laws guarantee your states infrastructure will crumble because the only people willing to take that work are untrained useless scabs.

A union should be an alliance of workers who act together to improve their working status.

Not related to Virginia, but Kshama Sawant came up earlier, and it now appears rumors of her demise were greatly exaggerated. In spite of trailing her Amazon-backed opponent by 8.4% on election night, she now leads by 518 votes, or ~1.36%. Mail and provisional ballots favored her heavily.

As a Virginian, I feel great about this. ERA and mininum wage increases, here we come.
