I don't like the sprites/tilesets for MV/VX. I don't like how the tiles are placed. I also learned some basic Ruby and don't want to have to learn a different coding language.

XP feels like the best one to me :<

I dont think I understand what you mean. Dead in the sense that the forums are dead?

MV is great. I moved a lot of assets over to it from vx. I cant imagine it would be too difficult to do it with xp.

Nobody is stopping you from using xp though. I still mess around with 2, and that thing is dead as anything.

Dead as in it's insanely difficult to find scripts compared to 15 years ago. Lots of the links are expired, and the forums are ghosted. I know, for one, my favorite sprite maker site isn't hosted anymore (even though there's a less intuitive version that comes with XP on Steam?).
It's difficult because I know how to edit small things in scripts - and I'm pretty good at eventing. But I still need basic scripts to build off of to get things I want done. Some scripts that ARE still available don't have sufficient explanation, and the forums are dead so I can't ask anybody -- I literally have to figure things out like a puzzle.

And I know I can move over the assets -- but I still don't like how the tiling works, and I don't like how the language isn't Ruby.

I'm currently working on a game in XP with my cats as the protagonists :3
