If you're putting Trump and Bernie that close to each other then you very much don't understand at least one of them.

I put Bernie lower because his free college meme is a really horrible take.

College is a fucking scam. People were scammed. We should forgive those who were scammed (those in debt with no job to show for their degree), but we should warn people of the risks of college, not incentivize more people to go and pay into it even more.

If I told you I had a product that will make you 1 million dollars, all you have to do is pay me 100,000 and you pay me 100,000 and get nothing, the solution isn't for the government to create a tax of the people to pay me, the fucking scammer, 100,000 dollars. The solution is to either swing the hammer down on me or at the very least educate people on how my product doesn't deliver what it claims to for a lot of people.

I went to college and have gotten a pretty good career out of it so far.

But yeah the fact that you put Trump and Bernie so closely together shows you definitely don't understand either of them, apparently.

The very idea that places like Pomona college would get 50,000 dollars from taxes so that a student can go to their school and get a liberal arts degree, only to end up working at McDonalds after 4 years, is fucking enraging lmao.

But I suppose the government could pick specific state schools to make free and heavily control the tuition. Kind of like what community colleges are, but 4 years.

I did too, because of the career I chose (computer science.)

Now I make more than my parents did combined at the end of their careers.

However, for a lot of people, the ones who Bernie appeals to, this is not the case.
His audience are those people who went to high end schools, got degrees in weak job markets and now are completely and utterly fucked.

You can blame them for bad decisions, but they are fed college propaganda since they are very young.

I know people who went to private universities, paid out of the ass, got art degrees and now have nothing to show for it. They basically got unrelated jobs they could have had out of high school.

Again, you can say they knew the risks, but none of this makes it rational to tax the people to pay these colleges money.

Maybe restructure tuition for state schools and try to keep costs down. Or it almost makes more sense to me to pay everyone 50,000 dollars than to pay that to the colleges for their "services"

I never really said they are exactly the same.
But of the shared qualities I like about them,

I like that they are anti-establishment, and by that I mean the establishment actually fucking hates them.
The DNC literally rigged the primaries against Bernie and the GOP were the original people who funded the Steele Dossier.
The media actively and constantly slanders Trump and Bernie Sanders and have done so even from the very beginning of their campaigns.

People like Warren are not actually anti-establishment. The DNC loves her, they actively push her, support her and endorse her. The mainstream media actively says positive things about her, and uses her "anti-establishment" image as a ploy to sell her to the populace.

Everything she is against is barely anti-establishment, she actively calls out specific companies and banks. Basically the Google and Amazon boogeymen the media and the establishment hates. The establishment has been publishing blatant anti-Google, Amazon, Apple etc propoganda for years because they are a huge threat to a lot of the establishment in many ways. That said, I'm not pro-Google, but that's something else entirely.

I like that they are demagogues so to speak, even if you don't believe they have populist intentions.

I like that they don't 100% align with their party platform, and that they aren't traditional career politicians.
I hate politics, political media, mainstream media, career politicians and how up until now, you had to play into the party system, fund-raise, do what they say, support your peers etc to get the chance at power. Basically it ends up being that everyone who is given a chance at a position is serving their party first and foremost and they have to perpetuate the continuing power of their party over everything else.

From the very beginning, when Trump called all those Republicans like Ted Cruz human sludge, I fucking loved that lmao. Because Cruz and also those dudes basically are sludge.
I would rather vote for someone who serves themselves than who serves the GOP and DNC.

because they don't have that many policies in common. I never said they did. They are both pro-gun, anti-war, which is good (but Bernie may have changed on guns).

Generally I'm anti-religion, anti-establishment, anti-war, pro-gun, pro-isolationism, pro-environment, pro-gay rights, anti-sjw

Usually no candidate aligns with me exactly so I just go by a combination of factors.

He asked about policies so I mentioned where I stand. I don't think I define myself by them and my opinion could change and has changed. I also think the importance of politics is heavily exaggerated. Mostly by people who benefit off of you for money and power. Either to get you to consume their shit and give them ratings, or as a call to action, to get you to vote for them into power so they fight some boogeyman big baddie.

yeah, well I don't really value each issue the same. I mostly value the ones that affect me more.
Like when Trump calls Rosie O'Donnell a fat pig lmao, that affects me more than let's say gun rights do because I'm a non-gun owner.

Where it's like... ok, if you insult a woman, you insult all women. You can't insult a woman's appearance, but you can insult a man's. You can call Trump every name in the book, every day, but god forbid you call a woman who is literally fat, fat, then you are sexist. You criticize a woman in anyway? sexist. Everything is racist. Everything is sexist.
The new lines being drawn constantly of what you are allowed to do, what you allowed to say, based on nothing. Just because someone on TV said so, so fucking annoying and stupid and has impacted my life already before Trump and more than not being able to buy a gun will.

I realize this is such a specific example, but I fucking hate sjws, and how modern day democrats and left wing media adopted the ideals of 2010 tumblr.

So many people unironically have dismissed my opinion now because I'm a certain race, gender, because I'm mansplaining or some shit.

In college, I won a speech and debate contest (people voted at the end) and a girl literally complained to faculty that I basically mainsplained and didn't value her opinion.
Literally speech and debate, where my objective was to crush her opinion.

It's just become so tiresome and affects my everyday life.

I'm not really trying to complain about it or say woe is me, but doesn't it make sense for me to vote for someone who benefits me?

Trump literally lowers the standard and bar for how people are supposed to behave I would rather people just be honest, then live a complete fucking lie like we are supposed to do.

Not to rant.

Trump is basically 4chan/gamefaqs and regular politicians are reddit.

Where on 4chan and gamefaqs, people just share whatever they want even if people yikes them.
while reddit, everything that is said, is said for the sole purpose of gaining approval from others.

Basically we are being programmed into saying what we are supposed to say instead of saying what we actually think.

People have the right to dismiss my opinion, my point is more and more people are discrediting others for being male, cis, heterosexual, white, boomers and so on. And that's fine. People have been dismissing others for years for superficial reasons and will continue to do so.

My only point is if I'm part of a group that is being negatively affected by sjw politics, why would I not push back against it? It doesn't make sense for me not to serve my own interests.

Obviously it's not only the dismissal that bothers me about sjw politics. I was merely pointing out one aspect that has affected me directly, that I could verify.
