I'm halfway through season 4 and... Holy shit. It hits home so, so hard. Incredibly accurate but scathingly bleak :/

yeah. one of the best written tv show ever. it does have its ups and downs, but the high is fucking high, and average the quality is consistently good. most of the low are early season 1 episodes. after half of the season 1 and above it's all one heck of a ride.

yeah. one of the best written tv show ever. it does have its ups and downs, but the high is fucking high, and average the quality is consistently good. most of the low are early season 1 episodes. after half of the season 1 and above it's all one heck of a ride.

It's a real testament that I struggle this much with surviving the show but want to keep going at it, because the show is so damn good.

it's the best written show on TV now imo

Yeah this. Like one of my favorite aspects of the show is the background gags. Things like a roasted pig being served to a pig couple at a restaurant or a bunch of pigeons crowding up the top of a statue while looking at their phones or something. As others have mentioned, the creators of the show are fucking brilliant.

Its one of those Rick and Morty scenarios to me. If you go into it without listening to what people say about it you will probably enjoy it. Its not an emotional roller coaster kind of show like many claim. It's just a funny, clever and well written show with some bleak overtones.

It's three things. On its surface it's a funny sitcom with clever writing. Beneath that, it's a cool animated show with possibly the most jokes per episode of any show I've seen. And beneath that it's an absolutely brutal examination of depression in its many forms, and how we react and succumb to it. I don't think calling it "depression form" is fair when the show goes to great lengths to really be honest with it, especially in later seasons.

The only negative I can find is that sometimes I don't enjoy some subplots they put some of the characters in and the animation is average for a flash show... but that's honestly me being extremely nitpicky. The show is just above and beyond for a show that tackles some really tough and touchy subjects. It also helps that it has enough gags to keep you interested. I'm actually glad I stuck with it, the first 6 episodes in Season 1 was a major drag in my opinion.

I can't watch Step-Brothers for much the same reason. It's funny but holy shit do I feel inadequate.
