Real talk, there's zero reason to keep Netflix constantly now. Their originals have major pacing issues and are largely pretty meh, especially lately.

Netflix is going to be a MySpace situation. The forerunner who becomes eclipsed by their own creation.

yeah but disney are going for subscriber numbers first and financials second, which is why theyre not gonna break even for a while with d+

netflix are having the same problem, and have hit peak US growth so relying on international growth

both models are unsustainable. but i guess the consumer wins. at least for the next few years anyway before all streamers hike up the prices

Disney's advantage over Netflix is that they're going to release 2 movies in the next 6 weeks that will gross over 1 billion dollars each at the box office.

Disney's advantage is that they own it all, and don't have to deal with licensing fees and negotiations.

That too, but the fact that they have Frozen 2 and Star Wars Episode 9 dropping in theaters 3 weeks apart also doesn't hurt.

Netflix doesn't shit out movies that gross 1 billion dollars+ 10 times a year.

Maybe a decent animated TMNT series with a darker tone will be made

Also, Disney+ is over hyped to hell.
The amount of issues is a bit ridiculous and there isn't enough content to keep my interest. I will stick to Netflix unless Disney decides to continue Daredevil and Punisher in the next year.

Disney owns 70% of Hulu or something, NBC owns the other 30% although I think once they get in the streaming game that 30% is going to go to Disney.

Fun fact, Disney parks alone sustain Disney's overhead costs, just recently saw how profitable those things are and how cheap it is for them to run them.

Because outside of HBO, there's nothing really else on TV worth watching.

You can't ignore that the vast majority of netflix shows have significant pacing issues and very clearly started as movie scripts that were stretched out.

I recommend going the Netflix, Disney+, Hulu route. I think it's the best bang for your buck entertainment wise.

Amazon Prime is more useful for free shipping if you use Amazon a lot.

I'm interested to see HBO Max because I think that's the only one coming out that may compete with Disney/Netflix.

Disney should roll Hulu's content into the app itself and charge $19.99 a month.

Hulu is very overlooked. It has all kinds of classic shows. Married With Children, The Wonder Years, and Futurama are all on Hulu exclusively.
