I got a DS for Christmas 2004. Still have that fat thing packed up in a box somewhere. Bet it still has a charge too.

My favorite game was probably Animal Crossing Wild World. Portable AC blew my mind.

The DS came on to the scene as I was starting to get out of gaming, or at least non-PC gaming.

My favorite DS game is probably Radiant Historia

One of my fondest DS memories was starting up Golden Sun Dark Dawn and hearing the title theme. It's a shame that game was so lackluster; it had killer music

Not my favorite, but the first game to come to mind is Kirby Canvas Curse. Probably because it was so stylus heavy. Good game.

Also SM64DS is underrated and controlled great if you used the thumbstrap and touch screen.

Best Mario Kart game until 8 came out. Best M&L game with Bowser's Inside Story.

I was a few years later in that regard; I remember getting games later in the DS lifespan like Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon and Sonic Rush Adventure, but not playing them much.

Prob one of the dragon quests tbh but would have to think about it. Order of ecclesia is a good shout actually

Great little console overall. I actually had a launch one but it got lost on holiday a few years after so ended up getting another phat model to replace it!

I feel like I owned a lot of random games for it, like geometry wars and mortal kombat 3. Oh and the tingle game

I had a DSBrick and a DSi

My DSi still survives, my DSBrick snapped in two ;_;

My most played game was probably Pokmon diamond with 300 hours. The only Pokmon game I've put that much time into, in fact probably the only game

I had an original model DS that I played a lot of Mario Kart and Super Mario 64 on. I remember cracking the screen by accident one day and then later I got a black DS slim where I played Pokemon all the time, Diamond and White.

Meteos is what sold me on a DS.

Also, Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, Hotel Dusk and Last Window, Ghost Trick, 999. Lots of good adventure/VN games.

I spent a hell of a lot of time on both Pokemon Pearl and Soul Silver. Dragon Quest XI, too.

Phantasy Star Zero is PSO on the go.

Rune Factory 3 was great.

I loved both Advance Wars titles: Dual Strike and Days of Ruin.

Oh, and I liked the first New Super Mario Brothers.

I got my DS as a graduation present.

Metroid Prime: Hunters used to be a fun online game back in it's day.
I also liked Etrian Oddysee despite not being a fan of JRPGs. Reminded me alot of playing D&D.
Chrono Trigger was also an amazing port.

Played a bunch of Pokemon. Enjoyed FFIII enough to want to do a gimmick run of all Red Mages(dem hats), really liked KH 358/2 Days, Chocobo Tales I think it was called, TWEWY, Kirby Squeak Squad, and others. The thing that let you download parts of a multiplayer game onto another DS was pretty neat and I used it a bunch for New Super Mario Bros.

The World Ends With You is probably still my favorite DS game. The two character gimmick was really cool and made you feel really skilled once you got used to it. Also there was a lot of customization in the different skills through pins and perks through clothes.

Plus the game used just about every feature of the DS in battles. A ton of different touch screen gestures, almost every button, the microphone, even sleep mode for one optional fight. Outside of battle, you also had sleep and communication features, which were admittedly a pain to use, but still ambitious.

My favorite DS games are:

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky
Ghost Trick
Nine Hours Nine Persons, Nine Doors
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

My fondest memory was how excited I felt being able to play a home console game (Mario 64 DS) on a handheld for the first time.

I kind of agree. While the original DS allowed for all the great GBA games, the 3DS has a much better library, imo.
