You can be completely pro transgender but you do not have to fight or be part of the movement. If they continue to look, dress, and act like a man, are people in the wrong for referring to them as "he, him, his"? I have a friend that fits this description and calls everybody who still uses her boy name and pronouns a transphobe. She still has a beard ffs. The odds that this person is unaware that they stand a chance of being misgendered while maintaining a male outward appearance is slim. I don't know this person, so I can't offer you any info on how to deal with them socially. Still, people can be transgender and engage in whatever amount of transitioning that they're comfortable with.
