Honestly, there's no way Gronk comes back mid-season and is good enough to be fantasy-relevant. You can try pointing at Witten, but he had a whole offseason to get his ass into football shape, re-learn a playbook, etc.

Also Witten isn't fantasy relevant so there's that too

I mean, he's the #10 TE in PPR. That's not exactly trash. But yes, hence 'try'

With Brady's dropoff this year, he'd be checking down to Gronk literally 85% of plays, football shape or not. He'd be worth massive points until the inevitable injury.

I mean it kinda is given the drop off at the TE position. Obviously the goal is the most points possible but in my league the gap between TE8 and TE11 (where Witten is in that league) is larger than the gap from TE11 to TE23.

Witten is also TE13 if you go off average points per week (Basically Dissly + his backup after injury outscored Witten on a weekly basis)

Anything from TE11 onwards is kinda very samey. He's not trash but he's not really relevant either, I guess a fringe starter / weekly streamer territory is an accurate description

you banked on a guy that was peddling weed pills and about 40lbs out of football shape to come back?

he was either going to get a "random" drug test the week he comes back or get hurt a week later because he's not in football shape
