Playing the EA NHL series with my friends and family. NHL 97 is still fucking good today.
Mutant League Hockey and Football were also amazing
Playing the forgotten classic Cyborg Justice with my best friend
Another friend never once beating me at NBA Jam because I knew the Power Up Fire code and would never tell him.
Beating the Aladdin and Jurassic Park games. Bonus, the SEGA intro being done by the T-Rex in Jurassic Park
Turning off penalties in FIFA and using the hard foul option over and over again until the other team ran out of healthy players and had to forfeit.
Using Skate in Streets of Rage and doing nothing but jump kicks the whole time because you were pretty much invulnerable
Plugging every game I could get my hands on into the Sonic 3 cartridge to see what it would do to the bonus stages.
Calling my podunk cable company's customer service line every week for years to beg for the Sega Channel. The poor reps must have fucking hate me.

But I did like Phantasy Star 3 and 4, Ristar, Shinobi III, Vectorman and Comix Zone. And Sonic 2 was ok.

The Genesis was my first console (technically my older sister's). Sonic 2 was the only game we had, and it didn't work half the time.

Sega Channel

oh yeah. Sonic 1-3, Sonic and Knuckles, Maximum Carnage, Jurassic Park, Earthworm Jim, Vectorman, Bram Stokers Dracula...all faves of mine. Plus, I was the only person I knew at the time that owned a Sega CD.

I was the Super Nintendo kid whose friend had a Genesis. I didn't get a Genesis of my own until later.

The first Genesis I owned quit working immediately after I'd beaten Ghouls 'n Ghosts. (The devil is a sore loser and caused my console to stop working.) I got it replaced last year -- and beat G'nG a second time.

It was called the Mega Drive here in Australia. I got it as a Christmas present with Altered Beast, Super Hang On, and Columns. Dad said we weren't getting any more games for it, because those three would last us.

X-Men, Robocop vs Terminator, Jungle Strike, Flashback and Mortal Kombat 1 & 2 are probably my fondest memories.

I didn't have a Genesis growing up. I do have one now, but it has a short in the power cord. Easy fix, but it's just at the bottom of my priority list. I also have one of those atgames consoles, but it has absolutely garbage sound quality.

My favorite game that I've played is probably Beyond Oasis. Wish I had a way to play it now.

Used to play one at my babysitters and my uncles when I was a kid.

Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic Spinball, Ristar, Decap Attack, Altered Beast, Golden Axe and Streets of Rage I remember quite fondly

I never owned one Asa kid and the only kids on the street who did were dicks.

I do own like a model 3 now and I like it. Much stronger run n gun and shmup library then the SNES. Which comparisons between Genesis and SNES are the main thing I remember about that console as a kid. Many school yard arguments.

I just picked up a copy of TMNT: Tournament Fighters for Genesis.

I haven't had a chance to play it yet, but I understand April O'Neal is a playable character and that she dresses like Blaze from the Streets of Rage series.

I never had one myself but my best friend/neighbour did so I played it a bunch.

I have Sonics Ultimate Genesis Collection on PS3 and still pop it in every now and then to play Streets of Rage.
