It's been amazing so far. Great star wars feel and the combat and exploration are top notch, although there is quite a bit of backtracking because you open up new paths when you get more powers/upgrades.

My only gripes are that exploration leads a lot towards customizations which are only pallette swaps for your hobo poncho, robot, ship and lightsaber, and lightsaber parts really not doing anything outside of looking cooler. But outside of your lightsaber color, the hilt is so small anyways that you don't really get to see what it looks like unless you're at the bench to change it lol

I agree. If I'm gonna spend my time looking for secret paths (which aren't mark on the map) I expect a little more than just a different color for my lightsaber handle.

First bit sounds like God of War, which I really enjoyed.

Biggest gripe Im seeing is lack of customization, and not being able to dismember humanoids.

It's a solid game with a good frame of a story and pretty good chraracters. The exploring is fun but leaves much to be desired.

I would recommend PC if you can handle that. The console versions is fine but the loading is okay at best. Makes dying feel like a chore.

First piece of starwars I've enjoyed since Disney's purchase. If we're excluding Old Republic.

Is Uncharted Wannabe experience, DISNEY RIDE type of presentation

The so called Souls gameplay doesn't matte, you can change difficulty ANYTIME YOU WANT

even during boss fights.

Whats the deal with experience points, and losing them when you die?

In Sekiro, you had a chance to lose experience every time you died. And every time you die, that chance goes up slightly.

If you hit that chance, you would lose half of your points. But any full levels you had gotten were safe at that point

Just go get a hit in on the enemy that killed you and you get the xp back

It's sort of the same. Experience bar gives you skill points. If you die, you lose that experience but any skill points accumulated are safe. And if you die, all you need to do is damage what killed you to get your experience back. Hell, I've died to stuff, had it damaged by other animals/troopers and got my experience back lol

I wont be trying that any time soon/ever

I really enjoyed what I played of Sekiro. Got stuck onAshina castle, Genichiro stage 2. Heard it only gets harder after that.

I got stuck for like a month, felt my worst game related rage ever, and just cant put myself through that again

Yeah, and then apparently theres still another phase in that fight? No fucking thank you

It was so hard for me to even get to the lightning phase consistently, let alone do any real damage during it

Im not saying it needs to be a huge open world masterpiece. I just dont know if Ill go back after completing it, so its hard to justify the $60.

Or I could spend like $15 renting it for a few days

The lightning phase is his last and undeniably the easiest phase of the fight. Once you counter his lightning attack you stun him and you can do like 1/3 of his posture

publishers: single player games are expensive to make so were adding optional microtransactions to ensure theyre worth the investment

gamers: that angers us! games should stay $60 with no additional cost!

publishers: ok heres a single player game with no microtransactions

gamers: no thanks Ill rent it/wait for a price drop

Im actually fine with having no dlc/micro transactions.

If it was more along the lines of ~50 hours of campaign, I would have no issue. Just seems like a relatively short game I guess

Ill never understand gamers insistence on some arbitrary number of hours for a game

its like $15 to see a movie in a theater, thats a quarter the price of a game and its over in two hours

$25 for dinner isnt unreasonable

But dammit for my $60 I better get one hour per dollar spent

Comparatively, Spider-Man was also about 20 hours of gameplay (without the dlc). I got through it in a few days, and havent touched it since, even though I had a ton of fun while playing.

It never ends. There's two dlc chapters that are 3 episodes long each, and the level cap is 99 now. It 100% is a grind that encourages microtransactions. The max tier upgrades they added with the second set of dlc episodes are so ridiculously expensive, you pretty much have to buy MTX to get them all.
