So, I made a topic a couple months ago if people who had Spotify were experiencing the same issue as I have been for about the past 3-4 months, which is Spotify just shoving a bunch of random artists/songs/playlists into your Recently Played list when I know I've NEVER listened to any of this shit. Sometimes they even fucking follow random artists without my permission, it's very annoying.

No surprise here, but it's still happening. It's like every other time I open the app, my entire recently played list gets ruined with all these nobody ass artists that I've never listened to and will never have the intent to listen to. It's really fucking annoying too, because since the crappy UI update earlier this year you can't remove things from your recently played list, you can only go on the artist page and select "don't play this", but of course that doesn't fucking stop anything. I still occasionally see shit I already told the damn app to not play. It pisses me off because Spotify starts thinking I actually listen to these artists and will give me suggestions based off that stuff instead of what I normally listen to.

Another issue that I've noticed sometimes is when I open the app, it'll say I'm connected to a device already (always says "Playing from Web Player - Chromecast") and I don't get it. I don't know how (if this is the case) someone else would be able to play these damn songs off my account when I'm not even using it. And I'm convinced it's just some bot from Spotify, because nothing about this feels like it's being done by a real human. Most of the time the music I see get stuffed into my queue are just single songs by completely random ass nobodies and somehow they all have like a few thousand listeners per month (probably through the same shit I'm dealing with).

So, I ask again, is anyone else having this problem with Spotify? Because I feel like it's just happening to me because I've not seen anyone anywhere talking about it either. Should I just contact Spotify's tech support/service and cuss them out? I'm really getting fed up with them trying to dictate what I listen to, I don't fucking pay for a premium account to have this nonsense happen. It's like, I'm not listening to enough artists that they think I should be listening to, so they just cheekily put all this random stuff like they're trying to make me listen to what they want. Fucking cocksuckers.

Did you connect it to your Google account? If so, google has the rights to recommend new artists and music for you. You'll have to change that in your settings.

Nope, I've had premium for over two month's now and have never had an issue. I make playlists so i don't have worry about random shit being added to recently played.

Granted, it's bullshit that some songs aren't available.

someone is getting into your spotify account and listening to it, it's either a friend who knows your info or you were hacked.

this happened to me, my account was hacked into by some dude in mexico who was constantly listening to spanish club music. i changed my PW and that stopped it but he still kept trying to break into my acct every now and then until I changed my login email as well.

Never knew about this, but I changed my password and found those settings you mentioned, and yeah it seems my Google account was connected to it. I removed access for everything except the basic Spotify ad service and my PS4.

Hopefully that works.

Edit: Also I noticed my Premium account was the family plan that was like $5 more than the regular Premium. Don't know when the fuck I ever switched to that, switched back to the regular Premium. Swear to god with this company...

I think the problem is with Google. Spotify sent me a free google mini and that's how I found this out. It was pretty annoying for me too.

Funny thing is, I never took that offer for the Google Home Mini. I got an email saying I qualified for it or something, but I haven't actually claimed it. No need.
