I use it every day at my pc.

If I recall correctly, free Spotify in addition to ads only allows you to listen in shuffle mode, allows a handful of skips per hour, and has worse sound quality. No thanks. I use Spotify all day at work unless I'm in meetings and almost every time I'm using my computer at home, I am more than happy to pay for it.

what the fuck? i had free spotify for a week last month because i had to adjust my payment date and i was wondering why anyone would ever use it. i got an ad in the middle of listening to an album? easily the only subscription i would never drop

I use Google Play Music to listen to music on my phone and download more of it from my library as I want to hear it.

Paid Spotify only makes sense to me if you have to listen to music on mobile (since YouTube won't let you listen with the app minimized). You can find every album/song ever on YouTube if you're just listening at your desk.

Spotify on the computer let's you pick your own music for free.

2 years ago you used to be able to get around the ads by doing it through a browser and using adblock but I think they fixed that, not 100% sure.

I grew up with tv and radio, short ads dont bother me much.

Ads during TV is whatever but in the middle of an album where the songs transition from one to the next is just the most saddening thing. But the real value in premium Spotify is being able to take a music collection much larger than the storage of a mobile device on the go with you, something I would really miss with most free music collection.

google also has youtube music, a separate app that lets it do that. though i don't remember what features it has to it in its free version. yes it's stupid. but i use that for songs/albums on youtube, play music for other albums/songs, and poweramp for anything already on my phone, which is what i usually listen to anyway (if nostalgic for stuff in the cloud i'll just use play music).

i'm rather surprised to see PS+ outlast Netflix though. if this was a year or two ago sure but its current version sucks.
