Lady I told you if I'm going to be made to get a fucking bus to your fuckhole company, I better be getting at least an extra 10k a year
Instead you told your fuckhole company to offer me only an extra 2k a year

I work for a company that supplies IT infrastructure and systems training to recruitment companies.

In a nutshell:

- you are one of anywhere of 10 to 50 people they spoke to today, depending on the nature of recruitment
- recruiters are paid largely in commission, so if they think they will lose out on a placement they'll get desperate and lowball things
- yes, you are the product, not their actual customer. Their customer is the client and their primary relationship will always be with the client.
- recruiters are...well let's just say they don't tend to be high skilled specialists

It's an inhouse one
That's what's annoying
Outsourced ones I know are terrible at their jobs and it's like walking into argos and asking for advice on washing machines

This does seem a bit low: $7.50/day (roughly) wouldn't necessarily cover bus expenses in all situations. But how are you justifying an extra $38/day (again, roughly) just for taking the bus?

I'm not.
My reasoning is: I can walk to work in less than 40 and a bus there takes 15 minutes If i want to get one. If you want me to spend that same time on a buss that means less overall exercise. That also means that I'm reliant on transport, not on myself.

Basically if I'm going to be required to be on a bus for at least 45 minutes, that's an extra 90 minutes commute. Which turns an 8 hour day into 9.5 hours at the very least.
Also I weighed in the benefits of my currnet job letting me play games for most of the time there

TL;DR: you're paying me ot leave my current job which I love, so the offer better be good

Nope I do. When I say "at least 10k more" and you don't get me at least 10k more, my response is "okay thank you and remove me from your systems"

If you knew what you were doing you wouldn't have agreed that you're worth X amount then asked for $10k more to ride a bus. Because I guarantee that's what the recruiter heard.

That not even amateur hour, that's a drunk guy outside the club telling jokes to a parking meter.

I feel this is probably something to work out before even wasting my time talking to the recruiter or going for the interview. And all that happens before I even talk specifics on dollars.

So your OP was bullshit? Because that's what you're saying now. I'm getting the sense you just let words spill out and don't really pay attention to what's accumulating.

Wish my job would pay for my commute lol. Hope that works out for you.

Its a weird concept to me, I could see it if you had an especially long commute, but 15 minutes by bus? You live 15 minutes from this place and want them to give you an extra 10k for that?

you must have a lot of spare time then to be entertaining this. 15 mins of bus time doesnt seem like a big deal in hindsight.

I love how the corporate bootlickers are all like "hure durr enjoy unemployment". The guy has a job already that he likes, if they expect him to have a longer, more expensive commute to work for them the onus is on them to meet his demands or find someone else.

I do since I usually only work a max of 32 hours.

Also I like to troll recruiters a lot if they're bad at their jobs

seems a bit unnecessary to troll them. I dont think theyre all that great either half the time but I also dont want to waste their time either. Who knows maybe I might need their services one day.

That much is obvious, it just seems like an excessive amount. Dunno what the job is, but I would expect they will look for someone else

If they're bad because they dont know what to do then I don't mind. But if they purposely screw up or try to get me to break my current contract then I troll them for fun.

I'm a terrible person but I like it

Recruiters are working for the company to fill a position. They don't care about you they just take your resume and find a position you can easily fit into so they get a commission.

I have them try to shove me into a new public accounting position constantly when I tell them I want to work for a private company instead because I would be placed in one ASAP in most cases. Some others I work with actually are sending me only private companies but most are just like "eh in a month I'll ask them if they want to move to a new public accounting firm and say it'll be better than their current one" hoping for a easy commission.

I think it greatly depends on your level/experience in public accounting. If youre at the more junior levels then the recruiters know you also want them to find you a role. Once you become a bit more experienced, clients will often name drop you to recruiters with the goal of them approaching you without violating any independence issues.
