That would be 4 IMO. The gameplay is so ridiculously well tuned that I cant imagine any single change that would result in a better game. Still looks great with texture packs, too!

If they ever end up remaking code Veronica we're going to get to this where point where Resident Evil 4 is the most dated game in the series and I remember when it came out thinking that was the best looking game I've ever played

Obviously hyped for this but I won't lie, I kind of wanted Resi 8 more next.

This may be an unpopular opinion but Nemesis being similar to Mr. X kind of sounds annoying as hell considering he's faster, more powerful, and maybe even equipped with the rocket launcher. I already think Mr. X eventually got tedious instead of scary at some points so I just hope they handle it a little differently.

Outbreak 1+2 need to be redone, but I think a remaster would be better than a remake. Keep the same gameplay, just improve the bot player AI, backport the File#2 abilities into the File#1 scenarios, and spruce up the graphics.

And bring back multiplayer, of course.

Yes you read it in the exact opposite way that I intended, but I understand HOW it reads that way.

Let me be clear: RE3 needs a remake, but no other RE game does after that.

If Nemesis behaves as limited as Mr. X then sure.

But since this is NEMESIS we're talking about, and we're looking at a 1 campaign game probably too, I'm hoping it'll be at least a little more dynamic.

I suppose the arguments against this would be that platforms, Nintendo excluded, seem to be moving in the direction of backwards/forwards compatibility, negating the need somewhat to port new editions, and that the full scale remakes like 2 (and presumably 3) sell significantly more than offshoots like Revelations. Remakes of 1/4 make a lot of sense after the next mainline RE game.

It's not about fixing the bad, it's about making a totally new game based on the original, more like how RE2 remake did RE2 and not like REmake did RE1
No more fixed camera with tank control, but rather third-person camera like in RE2 remake

I think 1 makes more sense because people actually care about 1, where as only weirdos like me care about CVX. The only SP RE games 0 and CV sold more than were the Revelations.

I mean ideally the remake would be of CV and they'd create a new spin-off, but Capcom is super conservative.

I'd love CVX remake, but Capcom still treats it more like an offshoot game for some reason, whereas they acknowledge zero more also for some reason.

6 co-op is a blast and mechanics wise it's actually an excellent tps/action game mechanics-wise. It just doesn't focus on like, any of RE's traditional strengths.

While I'm on RE opinions, this one is a colder take but REmake is one of the closest examples of a perfect video game as I've ever seen in my life. Sets out what it means to do darn near flawlessly while both being an incredible game on its own AND faithfully recreating a classic with plenty of fresh twists.

Every time I reinstall RE6 because I convince myself it can't be as bad as I remember it being, it turns out to be worse. It's like they took an average game and then challenged themselves to screw up every single aspect of it, and succeeded beyond their wildest expectations.
