I just can't seem to figure what foods to eat, and also mesh that with busy work and family life.

Okay why don't you start with listing your macrocarbs and sugar intake?

Well, i don't know about all that, but my breakfast is usually Frosted Mini Wheats, and my lunch is pbj sandwich, an apple and some snack cake.

Everything is a mess now because my wife has to go dairy-free, so we have no idea what to eat

I get that it can be intimidating especially if your new to the idea. I suggest getting some healthy cookbooks/ recipe apps.

But honestly you literally said "I want to stop eating sugar and carbs" so.... stop eating refined sugar and carbs?

Yeah, it's just tough to know what to eat, and how to find time to cook it.

Like, I don't have much time for breakfast, and I'm usually stuffing food in my face at work for lunch. If i work late i usually skip dinner or just grab Taco Bell cause it's cheap

Well meal prepping can work wonders with the limited time thing, I still try and do it every Sunday. Cook and prep all my lunches for the week. That way is done and easy to grab and go but I also bought and cooked the food so I feel obligated to eat it instead of buy lunch.

Have some healthy grab and go or quick breakfast ideas. If you want to eliminate carbs try prepping some hardboiled eggs and Turkey bacon or something the night before. Grab some and munch on the way to work along with a black coffee.

You can legit eat like a child. Just throw some chicken tenders in the microwave and you're good to go. Tyson makes some air fried ones that are actually pretty good for you.

Diet soda obv has way less sugar too.

It depends on your goals overall. But those 2 amazon items can make even VLCD keto diets managable.

lol diet soda is one of the worst substances you can put in your body. you should never advocate for anyone to be drinking diet soda under any circumstances.
How so?

most sugar substitutes are not any better for you than sugar, and people who drink diet sodas tend to overindulge more than with regular soda because they think diet soda is healthy and they can drink however much they want, and that's not true.

you know what other drink has much less sugar, and is also overall much healthier for you? water. come on, i know you of all people know this.
Sugar substitutes are MUCH better for you than sugar. They are 0 calories and don't contribute to a blood sugar spike.
If you are referring to studies about the link to obesity, heart disease and cancer and conclude that sugar substitutes are the cause, you are reading them wrong.

Good point!
TC just drink water all the time, maybe you can eat celery too, nothing else, no juice, no anything. Because after all your question was as Duran explained "what is literally the most healthy I can be? Even if it's miserable and unsustainable"

And your question definitely was not "how do I reduce my sugar intake?" as moron joe40001 thought.

lmfao this board

i'm actually getting harangued for saying that people should be drinking water instead of diet soda if they want to be healthier

Read the topic title. It's about sugar and carbs

OP is asking a specific question. One you are ignoring and being obtuse about. Trust me, as somebody who has asked the question "which is better for you, Diet Soda or Orange Juice?" and got multiple "helpful" people like you saying "water". You aren't answering his question, you are just being one of those people who makes it hard for people to take small steps to improve their health and diet. Because you are ignoring TC's question and answering the question they should be asking, and I promise you that shit is 100% more frustrating than helpful.

If only weight loss and healthy eating was as easy as flipping and switch then obesity wouldnt be so prevalent.

Diet soda is a healthier alternative that can help people adjust to a healthier diet. Nothing wrong with that.

Yep. I struggled so long to lose weight because when I reached out for guidance rather than get positives steps I heard a bunch of people talking about how positive steps weren't positive enough or weren't good in the right way.

People will let you balloon in weight eating whatever the fuck you want, but as soon as you try to improve unless you are doing it exactly their way, you are doing it wrong and you should feel bad.

That was my experience at least, and let's just say it didn't help things.

Now I'm doing it a way that works for me, and it's been going really well. I wish I would have done this ages ago.

it's worth noting that while getting off of sweet stuff is hard, you actually start losing your taste for it if you manage to lay off of it for a while. fruit is fine but soda just tastes too sweet for me. same for chocolate if it's got alot of sugar
