I still love couldntve. Double contraction for the win. Ive heard theres even the legendary triple contraction, but Ive never seen it used successfully!

Ive only heard that spoken never seen it written so I just always assumed they where just slurring the words together.

Contractions in general are strange. We're shortening common expressions to save syllables. Isn't is just a particularly strange contraction.

While we're at it, it's strange that English doesn't have a plural second person pronoun. The closest we have to one is "y'all", interestingly both a plural second person pronoun and a contraction, but whenever someone says "y'all" they get shit on for having lazy English.
