For like 4 years now all I have heard is "This shit sucks, they should have just done the EU!"

And now they're all like "Woah, they're bringing back Palpatine? Talk about shitty ideas."

As if Palpatine didn't come back in the EU, which is what they wanted...

one of the worst parts of the prequel trilogy was that palpatine's entire plan hinged over a million easily droppable threads that could have fucked up at any time, and every character was so oblivious to him obviously being evil. Both of which were so glaringly badly-written that the EU had to fill in every hole possible to not make it seem like that everyone in the galaxy during the time period the prequels were set had their frontal lobes removed. The idea that all of this shit was, again, all just part of his plan is so eyerolling that i cant stand it

the whole point was palpatine made it difficult for the jedi to foresee the future and they couldnt use the force properly.
