Imagine dropping hundreds on a copy of Little Samson. Everything works fine. You have achieve the Holy Grail of the NES. Then you think to play it again in a year or two and... nothing. The cartridge won't work. You dropped the better part of a grand on a game that has no guarantee it'll work in the future. It might just cop out on you because old games sometimes do that.

More reliable than disk based games. If it doesn't work than just clean the contacts.

As someone who formerly collected SNES games, you have absolutely no clue what you're on about.

My copy of Steambot Chronicles has seen better days, but last I checked, it was going for 150 bucks. I don't want to sell it anyway, but if I did, I wouldn't sell it in its current condition.

At worst you might have to change a battery, which requires minimal soldering the first time only. I'd be more worried about a fire or natural disaster wiping out my collection.

I really really want a copy of the SNES Harvest Moon.

Every time I look it up, it's like $80 at the low end.

Such a nostalgia boner killer.

Yeah, I would have preferred to get the SNES version but that's one of those rare cases where I opted for Virtual Console. It's $8 on the Wii U-- well worth it if you happen to own that platform already.

Where are you looking where you can get Harvest Moon for $80???

Even the dirtiest, most worn-label having, sharpie-drawn-on copy of HM will go for well over $100 as long as it's functional (actually if you're a PAL region gamer disregard all of this)

I...did not know that. It won't be the same, but $8 is not alot.

I dunno, that's just the number I remember from the last time I googled it, which was probably 6 months ago, so...
