I really liked this movie, might be my favorite terminator movie of all time. But iirc it's doing worse box office than genysis. Geez what is wrong with people?

It immediately relegated the movie to fan fiction for me.

If they want a woman to be the hero of the future, have John die in a noble manner and have her succeed him. Have her be more successful at fighting Terminators than he was. The opening was a blatant fuck you to Terminator 3 and subsequent sequels. And this film wasn't much better.

Mackenzie Davis was awesome as Grace, but no performance could be great enough to justify erasing a character of the past 25 years. This would be like killing Superman as a teenager to make Wonder Woman the leader of the Justice League. You can make a woman the top hero without erasing her male predecessor from existence.

I enjoyed the movie, but I'm also glad it wasn't a financial success. There's no fate but what we choose for ourselves and they chose their fate at the box office.

it's kinda weird though. i read in a review where they outright spoiled his death and was pissed. then i found out it literally happens in the opening and was like "huh, okay then"..

They killed Connor in the name of female empowerment. If they bring him back to lead, or co-lead, then that undercuts the whole point of Dani being the future. Even I wouldn't like the implications of that. "Step aside, girly. Daddy's home!"

It's best to let the series lie dormant for a decade, then reboot. Or let it lie dormant indefinitely. We're not getting a sequel because this one lost money.

People jokes about Rick and Morty requiring high IQ to understand, but it is Terminator with the whole concept of alternative timelines that requires high IQ.

I'm not too stupid to understand theories on splintered timelines or ripple effects. And they're not making branching sequel paths either. It was a bad call to kill John Connor as a youth.
