So I can leave for about 6,000 after tax more a year.
But it will be more stressful. Right now I don't get bothered outside of work. The new place if I agree wants me to be available after work until 10pm one week every 2 months but I don't get anything for that extra.

On one hand more money. On the other hand ce, I can play like... fucking games at my current job. I can literally have a Ronda Rousey desktop background after I beat HR's complaint she was a bikini model (fuck them for that). I can fucking watch wrestling all day at work.

But more money
But the question is really do I need more money?
Right now I can say part of my job is looking at pictures of Ronda Rousey and it's true. i don't know if I can say that if I switch jobs. It's still around same distance of walking which is really killing me since it's only a 30 minute walk

I love my current job. But more money is nice. But I don't need more money. I'm not hurting at all.

Go for the more money. You sound like a man-child trying to justify your low-paying job.

I can save about 12,000 after all major expenses a year, dude.
Money isn't a problem.
Like money literally isn't a factor, the greed is.

How secure do you feel in your current job? Meaning that you won't be let go for any number of reasons.

I don't get anything for that extra.
well, i mean, given they're saying this straight out the gap, i imagine this factors into the extra 6k per annum

I asked about that and because it's so staggered, only once every two months with all the staff from overseas too, there's no compensation. The reason they're offering a bit above the average market rate (which would be lterally 4k above the aberage before tax) is because they need someone who's uh, used to handling financial records and stuff (ie someone who won't fuck around)

Pretty much junior sysadmin but with a side of planning training for staff due to background as a trainer.
I don't have any. That's literally it. I like my current job because it gives me all the time off I need for the things I like to do and the money is more than enough. I only worked for small companies since I can fix things up to make sure I won't get a call at 7pm if someone is working late bitching

sometimes long-term comfort is more valuable than money, especially if you're not hurting. it's not always easy finding a place where you feel comfortable and happy.

but money is always useful, and it's not enough to screw you over in some way, so you never know when you might need it.

if it were me, and i wasn't hurting, i'd pick comfort over money. but it's certainly something you could regret in the (near?) future. life finds a way to screw us all over sometimes.

as long as your current role isnt going to get made redundant or your employer collapses then it sounds like you already know the answer.

whilst Id jump for more opportunity, more profile and more money, thats because I naturally enjoy the challenge and enjoy the salary, but I acknowledge not everyone has the same goals or wants as I do.

How's your retirement planning? Your IRA funded? Not needing more money in the short term is a silly reason to avoid moving up in the world.

I just don't trust most companies to not screw things up. That's the reason I see myself staying where I am. I get to give my own opinion and insight and be listened to despite being a 40ish billion dollar company.

Irish companies are really weirdly managed and this one is mostly Irish orientated and I'm seeing a lot of problems with it from the phone interview with how they explained things.

government money
Don't need it since government money hits after I retire and I can easily survive on that with the benefits I'd get.

Sounds like theres no reason for you to move.

Doesnt sound like you think too highly of the other company/new role in which case not worth rocking the boat over.
