Flipping the image horizontally, whether it be putting it up to a mirror or doing it digitally. Doing that will present it in a whole new perspective and it'll make things like messed up proportions more noticeable.

Seeing it from another angle lets your brain catch all the mistakes and weird proportions/shadows/shapes that you were so used to from the other direction. A simple trick so you can see your art fresh (sort of).

Yep, I actually hardly do that though. I just stop looking at the drawing for a few days then look at it with fresh eyes.

I always see something that just looks off and I don't know why, but it becomes obvious after some time. I've actually corrected year-old drawings too.

Indeed! That's why I give away most of my drawings, otherwise I would work on them forever.
