Why are White people so quick to say, "this isn't supposed to happen here" or "this sort of thing doesn't happen to people like us." whenever a horrific crime is committed as if we as White people are supposedly immune to violent horrific crime.

"White people" really are not as unified as you seem to think, I also doubt many would actually identify as White first.

Replace 'white people' with 'suburbanites' and you have a case.

It's your racism that makes you think they're talking about their race rather than their community.

It's not uncommon for people in peaceful neighborhoods to feel disconnected from the violent stories you see on the news, and then when something does happen, the shock to reality is felt a lot harder than it is for those who live in communities where violence isn't uncommon.

Everyone says that. No matter what race they are or where they're from, people want to feel safe. Even if it's a false sense of security, people don't want to think it can happen to them. The odds may be very slim that it can happen (such as dying in a mass shooting), and that's another reason why people say that

I didn't say we were. History taught us that because in Europe throughout time all Europeans ever did was war with one another and steal land, resources and create fake kingdoms yet we always point the finger at non-Whites which is what Trump was doing in yelping about building a wall.

He said people from Mexico were bringing drugs and crime to the country completely glossing over the fact that in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, newly arriving White Europeans from Itlay and other countries came here forming street gangs, etc which then spawned the America Mafia yet Trump never makes a point to say that.

My racism? That's precious to me. We never hear non-Whites say this isn't supposed to happen here whenever something bad happens yet when Columbine happened we had people saying that exact thing as if somehow Columbine, for example, isn't supposed to happen to people like those people yet it did despite the kids coming from Middle Class homes etc it did happen.
