Baltimore:
60 hours a week (6 10 hour days, Sundays off)
$110,000 / year after first year (start ~80-90 first year)

Savannah:
70 hours a week (7 10 hour days)
$140,000 / year after 2 years (start ~75k first year)

Both are field heavy jobs in their respective region, rarely in the city itself. Hours each week after 40 can be banked as vacation time, worth the OT rate (so instead of weekends, decent vacations somewhat often). Same benefits for each.

Environmental, water/soil sampling, working with drill rigs. Field work that will turn into an office job later down the line.

Yeah but again, most work would actually be outside, I think mostly in central PA. In the office every couple of weeks but it's in the downtown business district so it can't be that bad...

working 10hrs a day with no days off is going to make you want to blow your brains out after a couple months. you will have pretty much no personal life in exchange for 30k extra. not worth it imo

You won't have much personal life with just one day off too. Both options suck and no one who is worth a damn in the industry would accept 1 or 0 days off at all. These are the type of hours you give to a kid straight out of college who's just trying to get his nose wet and doesn't know any better. A real job worth that much salary would never offer such bad hours since no one would take it.

Baltimore because of the day off

Downtown Baltimore is safe enough. I've lived in or around the city my entire life.

Honestly 6 10s doesn't bother me too much. I had a job doing 5 10s last year and because I enjoyed the work, the days seemed faster than most 8 hour jobs I've done.

7 10s I'm willing to try out but I could see myself getting burnt out a lot quicker.

Savannah is beautiful and if you like drinking, they have an open container policy. Hell they love drinking so much they have a Pre St Patties celebration to build your tolerance up for the real thing.
