been out here for a couple years now, it rains occasionally in winter, and once there was a little smattering of snow in the backyard that had us all excited
but this morning it was actively snowing, i have never in my life experienced anything like this

I dunno how it is in the CA desert, but in the Deep South, snow on the road always turns to ice, unless it's so light that the asphalt just melts it. Maybe something to do with humidity? Not sure.

Not to mention there are no winter tires, chains, studs or salt trucks.

Technically just last year but it was a part of that massive winter storm SoCal got that spread snow to places that haven't gotten snow in decades and in certain spots like here it was only really enough to coat the ground. All my time out here it's never snowed like this.
