Its been one of my favorite action movies of all time since I saw it in theaters. But even then, I always felt that the movie is flawless until the narrative ends at the 2-hour mark. The rest is like an epilogue or the emotional resolution I guess, and its great dont get me wrong, but not entirely necessary. The main villain is dead, and a new villain is introduced 20 minutes from the end. It always felt a bit tacked on for me. I still love it and its up there with Skyfall as my favorite Bond movie.

Does anyone else feel this way?

All of the Craig Bond movies do that. Eva is my #3 Bond girl though, behind Marceau and Seydoux

It failed at probably the most important thing. Making the card game interesting. It feels like the hand of god just decided to give craig whatever cards he needed to win, when the point should have been the psychological game. Watching the world championship of poker is interesting. Watching poker in Casino Royale is boring.

Quantum and Skyfall didnt. They ended a few minutes after the antagonist died.

I disagree. The main source of tension during those scenes isnt about the card playing. Its about the facial expressions and character actions.

The point is you dont need to know how the game is played in order to enjoy it, because I imagine mainstream audiences wouldnt like a poker tutorial in the middle of their action movie, and I think they did a damn fine job.
