My fianc ordered a burger at a bar a week or two ago. I tried it, it wasn't terrible. Had a somewhat strange taste to it but wasn't bad.

She, on the other hand, was really impressed and said it was the best tasting non-meat burger she's had (she's not a vegetarian or anything and will enjoy a beef burger every now and then just as anyone else)

Not necessarily. Just like slightly different, like I could tell it wasn't beef with the taste. Hard to describe.

I only had one bite though so maybe she was able to get used to the taste more than I was. My taste sense was probably on alert knowing I was trying a burger that wasn't a real burger
