Definitely buy only what you can afford, but I don't regret spending the cash to get an awesome pair of headphones. It's basically Bose 700 > Sony WH1000XM3 > Bose QuietComfort 35 II in terms of Noise Cancelling. The last two are the same price, the 700s are more than 100 dollars more than the Sony's. I'm not an audiohead and I don't enjoy music that much. Sennheiser is more about the sound quality. Came with a base set that you can configure settings to different levels, and also has pre-set equalizers for different environments or activities (streaming, home, etc). I might buy the noise canceling mod kit because they are so damn comfortable to wear, and more immersion into my gaming or movies is not a bad thing at all. For my phone I have Galaxy Earbuds and those are phenomenal as well. Pairs with my phone easily just by removing from the case and putting them on, and they have good sound and range, and I got a nice deal on them using my Samsung rewards (almost 50% off, so from 149 to about 80). --- "Your flesh is a relic, a mere vessel.
