Ouch! Overpriced!

Wilsons, not bad, but you need them fitted, and try them out.

Buy a driver, a 9-iron, and a putter fitted to you at the pro shop where you play, enough to play a decent game. You don't need the driver if you're playing a par-3 Executive course, just a 9 and putter. Then add clubs a piece at a time.

My best clubs (and my teaching clubs) are all thrift shop and pawnshop finds. I don't think I've ever paid more than $5/club even for Callaways.

I couldn't afford to teach an adult ed beginners class every summer if I outfitted a class of 24 with new clubs.

Hmm yeah I mean I'm not trying to become a pro or anything, I just wanted a decent set to call my own and get it with little hassle. Price isn't too much of an object, I used nothing but credit card rewards points!

How do you get them fitted when they're ordered online?

You buy clubs at the pro shop where you play and get them fitted there. Afterward, you know what to order online.

Again, you can play a good game of Par 3 golf with just a 9-iron and a putter, buy those from your local pro shop. For a Regulation course, add a driver and 3-iron. Once you know what fits you, and how to choose clubs, you can actually use a bag full of clubs.
