Season 2 wasn't that bad, but the villain was definitely the weakest in the entire series.

Season three is the only great season. Season one was good, season two and four are bad.

Four falls apart at the end, around the time the giant robot shows up.

Not the strongest climax, but it had its moments. Kuvira was excellent, though.

I always thought it was weird how much weaker bending felt in Korra compared to TLA. Like Korra was supposed to be a master of Water, Fire, and Earth, but she rarely felt stronger than season 2 Aang.

It also felt like they were constantly finding ways to gimp her as well, so she couldn't be at full strength.

Bruh, Amon is top-tier especially with the 'lame' twist. He also got one of the best endings possible for his character. Shit was choice.

Korra is such an under-appreciated show.

And the hate seems to come mainly from manchildren who grew up with Avatar and didnt like Korra because.. its not Avatar.

Im so glad I only watched Avatar for the first time right before Korra premiered so I could just view the latter as a simple continuation of the story.

I mean bruh, y'all got me thinking of Amon again, and this scene. This fucking scene is so fucking good:

When I first saw that, I got actual chills, man. Steve Blum is top tier.

Amon was a great villain until the dumb twist. Then he was just okay.

It was more interesting to think that he actually had a special spirit power or technique. Instead of more water bending favoritism bullshit.

Steve Blum was a great casting choice though.

Also, I agree that the end of season 1 would've been a better place to end it

I liked it better when it was theorized that Amon was so strong because of spiritbending. Not because he was a bloodbender. That made me very sad, because spirit bending could've been opened up as something everyone could do but just didn't know how to use it.

I guess I should spoiler block it. But the spoilers above me covered my opinion basically.

I mean, is it really favoritism, or is it just science? Humans have a lot of water in us. We're mostly water. All our parts, without water, would basically be a pile of dust.

It's not favoritism to give a select few exceptional benders the ability to manipulate blood any more than it's favoritism to give metal bending to earth benders or lightning bending to fire benders.

one thing that bothered me in Korra is that lightning is supposed to be this incredibly rare and powerful form of firebending... and it's now used by generic factory workers? what?

also wasn't a fan of how technologically advanced everything became. like seriously, a giant robot made out of platinum at the end?

and yeah, bending in general felt very nerfed.

His twist better fit the Stalinist representation of his character / movement, in which a powerful revolutionary plays at solidarity with the non-bending masses but ultimately seeks to be the only one left with any true power. However, I do agree that spiritbending would have been a great addition to the series otherwise.

My only thematic issue with LoK as a whole is that they never really give Korra a chance to find identity and self-worth beyond being the Avatar. This concept is brought up briefly at the end of Book 2, but quickly turns around and resolves things the same way TLA did when it ran out of ideas: Giant Spirity Powers. Which leads into my other gripe with the writing: they didn't let Sokka live long enough to be part of LoK :( Apart from the other hundred good reasons I could think of to see old man Sokka in the second series, he would have been an ideal candidate to give Korra some wisdom on how to find self-worth beyond bending.

RealDill post I know, but Azula is an excellent character and antagonist. Zhao and Ozai are both chumps, though.

He was basically the water version of the Fire Lord, but without any of the stuff that made the Fire Lord intimidating.
