I had a dream last night that I was watching a horror movie about a demon which possesses a muscular guy in an asylum and sends him on a killing spree in a hospital. It was a remake and, despite being good on its own, the internet was mad because the male detective protagonist from the original was replaced by a woman.

I woke up and went to the bathroom and thought to myself that I didn't get to see the end of the movie. I go back to sleep. This time, I'm watching the original version of the film. Anthony Hopkins (pre-Silence of the Lambs) plays the victim of possession. David Carradine is the detective.

I wake up a second time. I go back to sleep, I'm again watching the remake. In something of an anticlimax, the victim of possession gets a moment of clarity and jumps out of a window -- killing himself to stop the demon. It's a downer, but it also makes sense in context.

It's not uncommon for me to have dreams about movies or shows that don't exist, but it's weird to have three interconnecting dreams about the same fictional movie.

The dream lifted one kill from Halloween 2 (<s>the security guard who gets hammered</s>) and one kill from Wes Craven's New Nightmare (<s>Julie, one of the primary supporting characters, who gets dragged along a hospital ceiling</s>). I believe both kills were in the first dream.

There was also a brief debate with the atheist detective protagonist (remake) discussing the existence/possibility of the devil. I can't tell if that was lifted from any movie or not.
