Current Events > I love The Office but three things I didn't like about it. SPOILERS

(+) Yeah! (+)

1. The show tried to trick us into thinking Jenna Fischer is some desirable hot babe everyone wants in an office environment. She's average as hell.

2. The show literally is telling us it is okay to fucking home rekt. That it is acceptable to tell an attached woman that you have feelings for her and justify it by telling yourself "it's only fair that she knows".

3. Really unrealistic that Jim would go back for Pam after getting a shot at Rashida Jones

Other than those two things the show is hilarious and I love it.

His personality clicked more with Pam's. Karen was way too professional for him -- she didn't even like to pull pranks, from what I recall, and that's one of his entire shticks.

One semi-spicy take of mine is that Jim is a boring, bland character. The show would have been much better if Ryan was the protagonist. His character progression makes a lot of sense, as he starts out as a jaded, unmotivated temp worker who over time becomes just as eccentric as everyone else at his job.

The show should have ended when Michael Scott left. That or just made Dwight the manager.

Giving Andy the Michael Scott role was weird. I guess NBC was trying to make him the next big star at the time (I think he was doing Hangover by that point), but Andy wasn't the right guy to be the focus.

Hardly everyone is going after Pam. She was supposed to be a conventionally attractive woman, which she is. There was only 3 main people who showed interest in her. Roy, who she was already with, Jim, who is supposed to be her soul mate, and Toby, who is supposed to be pathetic and was only really into her because she was nice to him. No one else in the office was really into her for any length of time. Andy was lonely and was hitting on anyone around basically and doesn't count.

I'll never understand this complaint. Of course she gets a lot of focus, her and Jim's relationship is the main plot of the show essentially.

Additionally, the show never really says that it's okay to ruin a relationship. The action was important in establishing their relationship eventually, but they both suffered greatly from it.

Last point is valid though if you ignore personality stuff.

There just isn't a large pool of women to compare. She's about equal with Erin in cuteness/attractiveness, but people do fight over her so that kind of proves you wrong about her being at the top.

Jenna Fischer was looking pretty good back then outside of the Office. But she's definitely the cute girl next door type and nothing really more.

Pam is Office hot type of chick. There was literally no one else, so she was the hottest because of no competition. did you not watch the Amy Adams episode?
