The thing Im wondering is how much playtime are we getting with all these characters? Ideally youd play through their segments in the story and after the DLC is complete you can use whoever you want for optional battles or any post game fights or content.

Final Fantasy characters coming back is fantastic, but I still don't know why Nomura omitting them in the first place was even a thing.

Otherwise, yeah, all the new stuff looks cool, but the base game was still fucking awful so I doubt getting some new superbosses and scenes to "fix" the story will really improve things that much.

It was a hype trailer to watch, though.

The FFXV stuff was just a fiasco, mainly due to mismanagement and time restrictions.

This seems to be an actual case of Nomura not wanting FF characters anymore and them fan-feedback letting him know he was being an idiot.

The end was the most clumsily written rushed mess I've ever seen.

I was at least enjoying all the Disney worlds, despite the lack of real plot progression for 20~ hours, but then I got to that Terranort scene...

Everything just went downhill after that.

The end was amazing, if not fanserviced as fuck. But goddamn did it feel good for everyone to come back together and fight together again.

I remember everything. That's why I'm saying I didn't like it.

The only scenes that I thought were cool were the Riku Replica scene and the scenes with Xigbar. Everything else was either Union Cross plug-ins, unsatisfying send-offs and reunions, people acting out-of-character, and a bunch of dropped plot-points.

I honestly had to push myself to get through it...

Of course. KH has been terrible about pacing since day 1, and unfortunately has not improved in that regard.

Oh, yes. That was my only real issue with the game. Did a very bad job of keeping the plot moving through the game. Was mostly go to random worlds and then near the end get plot.

I think part of KHs pacing problem was too much story was placed into other games. The short game with Aqua should have been in it instead of standalone.

KH3 was just one little wrap up conclusion with tons of filler.

I remember there being an interview where Nomura talks about wanting to go into Xehanort's back story more (which would have really helped define his somewhat vague character) but he would have needed another game for that.

That feels like kind of a cop out since all of those Side Stories and how they connect are still a product of him. Like, if the issue is that the amount of unresolved story threads were way too big to resolve, that's still his fault. He could have made more cohesive and stand-alone titles rather than making sure that every game in the series asked a bunch of questions and then finished unresolved.

But like others said, a lot of the issue here was that everything was crammed into the last act. If they had paced the story better, some of these things wouldn't be that bad.

I'm not talking about that scene - that scene was admittedly cool.

I'm talking about how half the plot points in the game - like the black box and Subject X - were just being Union X plugs that don't go anywhere. Along with the Org members that were only brought back to reference Union X.

YX was fine, but I hated that the other two + Master Xehanort all had a little redemption bit at the end. That was fucking stupid.
