I would really like to surprise my dad with Lakers/Clippers tickets for Christmas since we are both Laker fans and they are DAMN good this season. We've never been to a game together but we both been to at least one game. I want to "repay" him for all he's done by surprising him with something I know he'll enjoy.

Only problem is I don't have that much. If I save now I can safely get the price I'm looking at. If I don't, I would be stretching myself but two paychecks would bring me safely back.

If we take out all emotion, I know this is obviously not the best idea. But I have never been one for big gestures like this. The only comparable thing is I got him a small DJ console on Father's Day a few years back since while he loves his job, he honestly feels like he missed his calling. He still uses it to this day. That too was a lot but it was worth it.
