side note, losing your sense of smell would also kill your sense of taste, so you better hope you lose smell and taste as otherwise losing smell and something other than taste would mean you're down three senses (note that having a poor sense of smell doesn't mean no sense of smell).

Nope. Way too risky that you could end up blind and deaf. You would essentially be trapped in your own body, and it would be agonizingly easy for your "caretaker" to steal all of your money.
