She knew at 3 she wanted to transition.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/transgender-girl-12-starts-puberty-181609736.html

I wanted to be a lion at age 3, but my parents decided not to give me puberty blocking drugs. Now I just run around roaring at everyone instead.

Someone will defend this story. She apparently knew at THREE YEARS OLD she wanted to transition. Get the **** out of here. Snowflakes will defend this. I know it. Stay tuned. Well at least until our genius moderation staff deems opinions that dont fit their narrative to be trolling and it gets removed. But until this.

Absurd.

Ash Lammin, who was born a boy, is embarking on a lengthy journey to transition to female at an NHS-run clinic and is one of the youngest in the country to do so.

Hmm, seems fine.

Some of the anecdotal evidence supporting the existence of a social contagion factor to gender dysphoria is deeply compelling such as the one school in the UK where an astonishing 17 students many of them reportedly autistic are transitioning their gender. As National Post columnist Barbara Kay reports: "In one case study, a 14-year-old natal female and three of her natal female friends announced they were transgender within a year of a popular coach's announcement that she was transgender." The fact that the social contagion factor primarily affects girls would also help explain the staggering increase in gender dysphoria among girls, as noted in the statistics from the UK above.

no 3 year old knows what they want In that regard at 3.

Oh no. Something completely reversible to give this child some time to fully figure out their gender identity and make an informed decision when they turn 18.

How cruel.

I don't get why you keep bringing up the detail that she knew she was transgender at three years old. She didn't start hormone blockers until 12 years old.

He's trying to suggest she, like most transgender people in his opinion, aren't actually valid and that we decide to be that way. He's said similar things before. Of course, rather than the 3-12 thing showing she's been rigid the entire time he's just going to say the girl has been brainwashed since early on.

It's also why he's trying to bring up the stuff about autistic transgender people, he's trying to say they're just influenced. And that's easily proven false, but he doesn't actually care about facts, just how he can spin it to continue denying that transgender people are valid.

Eh, whatever. I know I probably wouldn't have had the capacity to make this sort of decision with confidence at that age, but then again, I've never experienced gender dysphoria, so what do I know?

How is it easily proven false? Many autistic people experience a near constant sense of "displacement" in regard to their physical or mental person. Are autistic people passing gender reassignment psych exams with flying colors or something?

So between 3 and 12 I'm sure plenty of physicians and psychologists (including the one who prescribed hormone blockers) talked to the girl extensively, right? And she won't be prescribed HRT until about 16, right? And can't undergo SRS until 18, right? So what's the problem?

This is one of the hardest subjects for me. I think it is much better to start that at an early age if that is what they want, but the trouble is that when you're young you can't make any logical decisions like that

@gunplagirl

What are your thoughts on this? Can we agree that children shouldn't be making choices like this, but that it's good to start it early? Maybe you've already talked about it in the topic, if so, just quote yourself, please, and I'll read that.

Like being able to vote, drive a car, or own property etc; making a substantial change like this should require a minimum age. This child has not developed enough to fully understand what they are doing.

One of Britain's youngest transgender children has begun transitioning at the age of 12 after realising she was in the 'wrong body' aged just three.
Terri Lammin, 43, from Ramsgate, Kent, said that watching her daughter Ash - born Ashton - grow up confused and uncomfortable in her own body was 'heartbreaking.'
She said: 'Although she was born male, from the moment she could speak Ash insisted she was a girl.
'By age five, she was asking "when is someone going to chop my winky off?" - and questioning why she had it at all.'

My niece is now 10. Shes been wanting to be a pony since she was three. She thought that the nails from the horseshoes hurt a bit though.

Why are we allowing children, whose brains havent finished developing, to take life altering hormones? Isnt this child abuse? Arent you supposed to protect children even from themselves??
