And this is coming from someone who liked both TFA and TLJ. She seemed to have much more of a range in TFA than TLJ. It seemed like TLJ forgot who the main story was supposed to be about (I'm assuming they meant it to be Rey). I liked Finn's fight with Phasma and Poe staging a coup was a nice touch. It just seemed like Rey's story didn't have the emotional weight it needed to be believable. I like her intensity but the writing on her part of the film seemed weak. Poor Rey writing in TLJ after seeing her resolve in TFA made her character fall flat.
