Covering him en masse is going to get him re-elected. Why not just ignore him entirely and let him tweet without any attention? People suggested it when he ran for president, but it never occurred.

Because the people doing the covering are making bank on covering him en masse and likely don't actually care whether he wins or not, as long as there's enough perpetual outrage to drive engagement and thus ad revenue.
