its almost like NY has one of the highest costs of living

Most jobs already pay well above minimum wage, hell I dont recall the last hiring sign I've seen advertising for less then 11.00$. And a 1k UBI will be worthless eventually becuase of inflation.

So will Yang's plan and with the knowledge that everyone poor will have an 1000 bucks crime will go up along with the prices because poor ppeople are very easy to rob, like super easy, the cops don't give a shit about poors like they do with the rich and upper middle class, at least they put in a token effort for the middle class but if you're poor too bad so sad you live in a shit area you knew the score anyway.

inflation has happened regardless of the minimum wage.

Wages have been stagnant but corporate profits have soared.

It's almost as if it's the upper class that's ruining the economy because of its overreaching influence >_>

Actually I think now would be a great time. Tax automation that replaces manual labor, but make it low enough that the replacement is a sure win. This will remove a lot of jobs but also remove their need, while making it easier for smaller shops who need those employees. We're far enough into automation that we should push for it and make it happen on our terms :)
