I did not mock two of my favorite artists of all time; I said I would rather have them still alive with their souls intact, rather than rich dead & soul-less.

Because if they were still alive they could still make music, even if it was more underground & they made less money.

But at this point some troll pretended to find that offensive I assume? Because no way anybody misinterpreted what I said.
