Happens in movies and books a lot but not so much in games. Maybe due to the power fantasy thing.

Was thinking about it recently and I can only think of 1 game of the top of my head that did it and that was spoilers for games below

Mass Effect 3 if you romanced Jacob. When you were in prison he fucked and inpregnated another girl and isn't interested in you anymore. There wasn't even any closure about this until the final DLC added 1 scene

And it dawned on me how unusual that was.

I mean I guess there is Michael and Amanda in GTA5 but they're both sleeping around and their marriage was about to end so I guess it counts? I dunno....
