Seems like a lot for blocking. I feel like that should be reserved for people who not only have nothing of value to say, but actively goes into your topics and ruins them with their bullshit.

Most of the people I have on ignore, I've never interacted with. I just look at their posts and say "Man, this dude is annoying, I'd rather not see his posts anymore" and it's as simple as that. Ignoring makes sense in your case, only block if they are actually being antagonistic towards you.
