Personally, I don't know about you guys but I don't find any of the following "fun":

-Enemy Spam (especially in RPGs when there's 5+ enemies nearby)

-Annoying fetchquests (Basically anything that sends you running around for a reward that's either useless or sucks asscheeks)

-Odds against players (How is it fair that the enemy can constantly call for backup every turn and we can't keep up?)

Those are my biggest turnoffs for games.

i don't mind fetch quests too much as long as the experience is good and they're not tedious as hell. agreed on enemy spam, although that can be fun if they know how to make it that way. if they have low health and i have a good aoe ability then it can be therapeutic.

escort quests can almost always eat shit, though, other than maybe RE4. usually if there's a mechanic like this that sucks to deal with it's because the developers messed up and there's at least some way it could be made fun if implemented in another game, but nobody ever seems to get this shit right outside of RE4 or Half-Life 2 (which tbh it's more like you're the one being escorted anyway).
