I'm sure the comic book nerds are foaming at the mouth, erections in hand to explain what the comics say and how Darkseid can totally take Vegeta in a fight.

But I just mean solely within the context of the movies and noting else.

Odin and his daughter knows how important they are and sends one to primitive Earth for protection (for some reason)

The bald magic chick dedicates her life to protecting them

Thanos knows about them, the collector etc.

These things control space and time, reality itself, the spirit realm, give you unmatched power and red wibbily wobbly disease or whatever that one did.

They threaten the universe and are the cornerstone (no pun intended) of every event or these heroes for centuries

And not one person be like "What are these things anyway? Who made them and why? Where do they come from!?"

Not even the Asian doctor chick with a crush on Thor who Is like "I'm far to busy for a social life! I have research to do" even she doesn't give a shit about the macguffins

How do they know these are the only ones? Thanos seems pretty sure but never explains why.

Every single character Is like Quentin from Cube. Inky focused on their current predicament without care of the questions surrounding it.

lol no

Ronan the Amazing Fuck Up?
I didn't say he wasn't an idiot, double crossing Thanos seems like a bad idea. But I definitely remember him compared to other villains.

Now I'm curious about where they originated from. Always thought they were from the beginning of time and just were there. I mean who or what would have the power to create something like them. It should be the next big bad then.

The origin of the stones aren't really necessary for the story that is being told.
