like i mean, they call you and ask if you can come on later in the day because they're short staffed. Do you ever agree, and go in?

Quite often when I was working an irregular schedule, and I'd usually cover it. Now working a regular Monday-Friday, not often and it's typically to cover PTO so I don't get called in.

When I was part-time, it was a regular occurrence. Sometimes I would go in for the extra hours and sometimes not depending on if I had plans. Since I am full-time now, it isn't often that I get called in. There are a couple times I have been texted or called because they didn't know how to handle a situation so I would give them my advice and then fill out a time adjustment form on the next day I was scheduled.

Enough that on my third week of working a 50 hour week I said "either change the schedule or I quit" and the next day I quit

These days, with the job I currently have, they don't... The closest thing is coming in an hour late, so I can stay an hour late. But it's not covering another shift. They just don't want people to stay longer than others. So, some will come in on time, some an hour late, and some an hour early. That's at one of my jobs...
