The scenario is that we're arguing about whether or not a plant can see us. We needed a plant pun that included either eyeballs or cameras to make hte pun work. I said lensender (lavender + lens), everyone else said it was a bad pun.

So I mean the point of a pun is you substitute one word/part of a word with a similar sounding word to give it a double meaning of sorts. Like this is so far off I suspect you might not actually know what a pun is.

Lens doesn't sound like Lav at all aside from both starting with L which is not sufficient.

Was this in text only? It might make some slight sense to think of it there. If it was over text my tip to you would be to say your pun attempts out loud before making them.
