Never liked or lived with a cat before last year, moved in with my fiancee and now I love their cat and he loves me. But he's put on a lot of weight since I've been living here and he just wants to sleep and cuddle instead of running around the house like crazy, I think it might be my fault. I try not to give in but he's always miaowing at me then following me into the kitchen and jumping up at the cupboard that has his cat treats in. So he's getting a lot more treats now and is a p chubby boy.

I think he's happy and I'm always seeing pictures of big fat cats online and everyone loves them, just worry about his health

Fat cats are a product of lazy owners. And Im speaking as a former owner of an obese cat. It was cute until he started developing diabetes and couldnt move much. We took a year and a half to get his weight from 19 to 13 lbs and he was a completely different cat. He could jump and play like never before. No diabetes. Great fur. We were really hurting him by free feeding him whatever food. He wasnt happy on a diet in the beginning and drove us batshit crazy with his angst at us. But it was worth it.

Dont do that to your cat.
