Was fighting Papa G, got my ass kicked 3 times when trying to do the music box thing for free backstabs.

said fuck it, dropped the music box and just played with parries and dodges, killed him in less than 3 minutes.

I think this is the only From game that I've been any good at parrying.

Using a +2 Threaded Cane and Hunter Pistol right now

aiming for 50VIT 99ARC for my endgame build

I've platinumed that game and still never properly fought that guy. I just make his 2nd form chase me around that big thing in the middle and poke at him until hes dead.

sometimes i try.

it's only payed off once.

In 3, I got invaded in the Ringed City while with a buddy who PvPs a lot. So he was like "I've got him."

It was an epic fight but he lost. So the invader came after me after killing my buddy.

Parried his jump attack and oneshot him with the Swordspear. Never been able to parry a player since then

I platinumed it too.

But I cheated for that and used summons.

I don't have PS+ anymore so i have to fight everything myself

nah man, start with the Cane, then grab yourself the BoM for stunlocking the humanoids. Or the pizza cutter

i never understood the difficulty with Papa Guac. He's definitely the tutorial boss of the hunters and a lot of his attacks are super telegraphed.

The Cainhurst Crow is definitely a lot harder when not cheesing him.

You mean the dude in the cathedral after you talk to Eileen? You can cheese him?

Papa G isn't hard but he can stunlock you to death very easily. Cleric Beast is harder for me for the first bosses but that's just because i'm dumb

I got 50VIT 25END 40STR 40DEX on my last playthrough. I spent a lot of time in Chalice Dungeons and probably will do the same in this run.

I just dodged everything, rather than parrying or blocking... which is part of why Sekiro gave me a lot of trouble, x.x

Cleric Beast is a 2 on 1 fight so it's not fair. CB and the camera make for a fearsome duo.

I think it has been patched out. But you used to be able to wait until he switched to 2-hand mode (where he loses health), then move outside the cathedral and wait until he died.

The thing about him is that he punishes dodging backwards really hard, especially if you fight him among the graves like I did (I didn't realize that upper platform is there). In Dark Souls 1/2 dodging backwards is generally the best way to heal, since bosses/enemies will usually have to move toward you before starting attack animations. So although you can dodge into/toward bosses and heal, you usually have a bigger window if you dodge away. You basically have to unlearn that habit to not lose.

Because of that he took more tries than any other boss in the game for me besides maybe Orphan. But I'm pretty sure I did Orphan in fewer tries.

yeah dodging backwards gets me killed a lot.

i'm trying really hard to dodge into and towards their weapon. usually sticks me in place for a good counter hit

My favorite build is 50 Bloodtinge and 25 Skill with Chikage and Evelyn. Not typically big on katanas in Soulsborne but the Chikage is a lot of fun and sexy af

I beat him by baiting his running attack and parrying it. Rinse and repeat.

I believe so. It's been a while but IIRC the first fire gem I got was from the Watchdog in one of the early chalices.
