Actually, there hasnt been hype for the contest period. Thats why nominations are still up, there hasnt been a lot of interest as shown by the record-low amount of nominations. We havent had this few nominations in any contest ever, and its valid cause for worry regarding whether there will be future contests period.

No, I tried. There's nothing in the source code of the nomination page that reveals the total number of nominations at the time of making a specific nomination. Games Contests have generally been like this in the past. I couldn't track the nomination total for the 2015 BGE contest either.

Because frankly you guys are too late for this, it should have been started around November/December.

We couldnt start the nominations before 2019 ended. Although very few games (especially worthy games) came out at the end of 2019, we wanted to make the contest as fair as possible for all games, although we were considering starting the nominations around early December knowing how few nominations wed be yielding.

if moonroof can suddenly rally hundreds of voters at the end of a close match like he claims then I'm sure he could have more than doubled our nomination totals if he had actually bothered

thus we should blame his laziness for any issues related to nomination totals

Correct. There will be about 29,000 votes each match.

29k? that seems too high unless we get the whole registered votes count as two thing.

Is the voting going to be public? so anyone can vote regardless of being a user or not?
If so then the results will be inflated because anybody can cheat.
I suggest making the voting system users only, but you will lose count, i dont think i ever saw the registered users number go above 5k (in the boards)
29k seems hard to come by, maybe with public poll where people can literally vote more than 50 time xD.

GameFAQs has established, stringent anti-cheating protocols from previous contests that should render that a non-issue. Also, 29k votes will be with votes for registered users counting double, which we're assuming will be the case just as it was last contest.
